Operational initiative

Interconnection is an architecture, not a checklist.

Machines, software and data must communicate through verifiable, governed and documented flows: from the asset to the decision, a complete information chain.

Interconnection must be designed from the start. Each step between the physical asset and the management decision needs to be traceable.

Machinery produces data, that data reaches execution and management systems, and those systems inform operational decisions.

A useful check is how long it takes for someone to see an event on the shop floor without having to ask another person. If it takes days, the data exists but is not circulating.

What it produces

An assessment of the machines, the data they expose and what is missing for it to reach the ERP. A machine described as “4.0-ready” may only communicate with its manufacturer’s software.

The project then defines the architecture across machinery, PLCs, sensors, MES/PDM, ERP, CRM and cloud analytics. It includes the conformity documentation for the appraiser. When required by the measure, an independent professional writes and certifies the technical appraisal.

Documentation proves that interconnection exists and works. It must be collected while the machines are connected. Reconstructing it months later means searching for information that may never have been recorded.

Who does what

The business provides access to the plant, production staff and systems. Their knowledge of the working process is needed to design the architecture. MA.VI coordinates machine builders, integrators and software suppliers so that their work fits the overall design.

The independent appraiser certifies. MA.VI makes sure the required material is ready when they arrive.

How it unfolds

  1. Machinery
  2. PLC / Sensors
  3. MES / PDM
  4. ERP
  5. CRM
  6. Cloud / BI

Next step

Let’s talk about your next project.

A conversation, not a quote. We start from where you want to go, and see together which levers will get you there.
